Arsenal Park – Orastie

I have traveled a lot in our country, staying in all kind of places, better or worse. Usually i avoid talking about accommodations, but i have to tell you about Arsenal Park. An ex military base, transformed into tourist housing, where everything is military themed.

Here i discovered  a great number of sportive facilities from bike riding, to archery, to zip lining and adventure park. There are also a lot of activities for those who seek relaxations, like the pool and spa areas.

Very amazing here is the open air military museum that i will present here in a few photos… I have to admit it is an amazing thing to wake up in the morning and when you exit the camera to see a tank😀

Arsenal Park can be found on the edge of the town „Orastie” in the Hunedoara state.

Marea Moschee – Constanta – The Great Mosque

Today it is a place of worship as well as an important attraction for the city, being visited daily by curious tourists. The entry fee includes a climb up the mosque’s tower, where we have an amazing view over the city and the port of Constanta.

Regata Marilor Veliere – Tall Ship Regatta

Abia asteptam urmatoarea vizita a velierelor la noi in tara🙂

September brought a special event to the shores of Romania under the form of a few incredible and rare ships. I am taking about the great tall sail ships that rested in the port of Constanta for a full weekend.

Tall Ship Regatta came back to Romania this year, bringing ships from Romania, Bulgaria, Poland, Russia and Spain, all toward the excitement of the visitors that had the unique occasion to climb aboard and explore these vessels. We had the opportunity to see sailors at their post and in their free time, we met youngsters doing drill aboard the international training ship Atyla, we reached the rudder of a few ships and finally we watched a spectacular fireworks display.

An amazing event and a rare opportunity to enjoy the ships of a different age. We can hardly wait for their next visit to our country.

Negru Voda si bisericile Rupestre – Negru Voda and the cave churces

When i was younger, in history class, the teacher told us a story of how Negru Voda rode off to with his army to battle, all riding white horses, while his lady was waiting for him. The reason for the white horses was so that when an army approached the castle, the villagers could distinguish friends from enemies. One day, an army riding crimson horses was approaching the castle, and Negru Voda’s wive, believing that her husband lost the battle and died, threw herself from the mountain. Unfortunately, the army aproching was Negru Voda’s army, the horses stained crimson with the blood of combat.

Now being older and developing a passion for traveling, i decided to visit places i heard of when i was younger. Thus i started on a trip to discover Negru Voda and his realms. I was lucky enough to find some remarkable people whom were planning such a trip.

Thus the trip planers took me to see 3 cave churches of great historical value, those being „Manastirea Cetatuia Negru Voda”, „Manastirea Namaiesti” si „Manastirea Corbii de Piatra”. While visiting these 3 objectives, i discovered alot of stories and legends from our tour guides and local guides. I have seen where the earth melted beneath Negru Voda’s feet while he was showing amazing faith, i saw where his wife threw herserlf off the mountain, i found out how people used to crawl inside a secret cave to pray and i felt how life used to be hundreds of years ago.

The trip was incredible and very well planned, even held some secret objectives, like an authentic peasant house dating back to the 1800’s🙂 The planners of the trip can be found on facebook under the name „Terra Incognita – from mystery to history” and i highly recommend their trips🙂
