Crama Lacerta – Lacerta Winery

In acest weekend am plecat la pas prin lumea vinului, printr-o vizita in zona podgoriei din Dealu’ Mare si o crama fabuloasa din marginea judetului Buzau.

Ghidul nostru ne-a si oferit in timpul turului sa gustam cateva bauturi (must, must in timpul fermentatiei si binenteles vin), oferindu-ne explicatii detaliate despre fiecare in parte, fiecare reprezentand un pas diferit in procesul de pregatire al vinului.

This weekend i had the occasion to walk into the world of wine with a visit to the „Dealu’ Mare” Vineyard and a wonderful winery at the edge of Buzau state. Thus i welcome you to the Lacerta Winery.

I had the occasion to see and receive information about the whole wine making process, from the gathering of the grapes to the final product. I found out how the grapes are picked and sorted, how they are held in special containers, i saw the wine barrels and i found out what they have special and in the end i saw how the famous wine bottles are prepared for sale.

Our guide offered us 3 beverages during the tour (wine in different stages of the process), giving us plenty of information about each one.

The tour was great, and to add to the experience we had the opportunity of participating in a wine tasting 🙂

In the end i leave you with a few photos and i bid you happy drinking 😉

Vulcanii Noroiosi / The muddy volcanoes

A semi apocalyptic scenery opened before my eyes during the last weekend and it is not some exotic foreign location. I am referring to The muddy volcanoes in Buzau county. An amazing place and yet so weird as you shall see in the pictures below. 🙂 The muddy volcanoes of Buzau are actually divided in two separate but close locations at „Paclele Mari” and „Paclele Mici”. As a landmark i can offer you the nearby town of Berca 🙂

What are these „volcanoes” ? Underground gas pockets that find a breach in the earth’s crust, passing through different layers of terrain and creating mud formations at the surface. This mud dries up and of course since the gas keeps pumping sediments to the surface, the whole gradually becomes something resembling a small „volcano” 🙂

4 lei is the visiting taxthat i have happily paid and let me tell you it was worth it. These volcanoes are something you don’t get to see too often in the world, and they must be seen at least once in someone’s lifetime. The terrain covered by dry mud, crossed by crevices formed by running mud „rivers” leaves an impression of desolation… This location is something that i imagined i would see in a semi desert place like Arizona maybe… I most surely did not expect to see this in our country 🙂 It was a really nice surprise 🙂 And even more interesting is the strong contrast between the desolated area of the volcanoes and the lush surrounding areas… In the end i leave you with a few photos i took with this occasion…
