Zapada !!!

Castelul Pelisor / Pelisor Castle

ENGLISH:

Not quite done with the posts about Sinaia and it’s touristic objectives… Today we stop at one of the two castles of this town, Pelisor… Since 1993, Pelisor Castle has been open to the public, amazing it’s visitors through it’s multitude of styles and history… The little brother of the famous Castle Peles, designed by the same architect Karel Liman and used as home by the princes Ferdinant and Maria. Although close in style with Castle Peles, Maria left a big mark on the interior decorations, the most amazing one being „the golden room” decorated with thistle leaves set in gold, because they are closely related to Scotland (the place of birth of Maria).

Almost as impresive as Peles, this little castle deserves a visit, altho maybe not in the same day as it’s bigger counterpart 😛 Lots of amazing rooms, with different furniture and styles, from the tea room with it’s amazing tea serving sets, to the children’s rooms where we can find paintings of some faimous stories we all grew up with (there is a paining of Snow White in the photos below), grand bedrooms and rooms for relaxation… in short, another amazing romanian castle that should make us proud…

I bid you all a good visit…

Muzeul Rezervatiei Bucegi.

A tiny museum, that ia happened to come across by chance, even thou it exists in the town of Sinaia for many many years now, dedicated to the „Bucegi” mountains. Here we can find some information about the mountains, and examples of the flora and fauna typical to the mountain regions of Bucegi. All kind of animals and birds, all stuffed, from cute tiny salamanders to the rare black goats, mushrooms, jnepeni, and „forget me not” flowers. If you are curious to see how they all look  like, this museum is for you.

Also this museum is amazing inside, being situated in a tiny building in the „Dimitrie Ghica” park, with exhibits at the ground floor and at the specially arranged basement. The descent is done through an artificially made cave, and once we reach the basement we discover that all the walls are covered in tree bark, leaving us a special amazing feeling… Go and see for yourselves to see what i mean 🙂

Casino Sinaia
